About Annapolis Hawks

Annapolis Hawks is a Maryland-based lacrosse club with a mailing address in Hanover, MD, whose rosters draw players from Annapolis, Severna Park, Arnold, the Eastern Shore, DC, and beyond. The organization fields teams as a competitive travel/tournament program ranked boys #26. Operating under a philosophy called More Than Lacrosse, the club focuses on developing players on and off the field from 2nd grade through high school while instilling responsibility, accountability, and teamwork. Team training sessions are conducted at The Edge Arena in Stevensville, MD.

PROGRAMS
Programs

The Hawks field teams organized by graduation year from 2028 through 2037, including Green and Black squads, covering players from elementary through high school. Expectations escalate across each tier, focusing on fundamentals and fun in 2nd-4th grade, stepping up commitment in middle school, and shifting to a college-prep focus with recruiting exposure in high school. Winter training consists of once-weekly small group training sessions at an indoor facility. Teams participate in competitive league play during the spring, followed by tournament play across the summer circuit.

TUITION
Cost to play

Tryout registration for Annapolis Hawks club teams is $62.25 per player. Annual full membership fees range from $1,780 to $2,095 for younger elementary teams up to $3,920 for high school squads, covering coaching, skill clinics, practices, and tournament entries. A mandatory $283 gear fee covers an Under Armour uniform and apparel kit, with players and families responsible for their own travel and lodging costs.

The Hawks employ dedicated team-specific head and assistant coaches, many with multi-year tenure with the club, alongside a Program Director and Executive Director.
Collegiate playing backgrounds
Many staff members played or coached at the college level, including Navy, UNC, Duke, Loyola, UMBC, Penn State, with several possessing professional or high-school coaching backgrounds.
Executive leadership
Executive Director Marc Van Arsdale is an 11-time national champion and former UPenn head coach who has served as an assistant coach at Virginia, Loyola, and Hobart.

Program Director and Annapolis Hawks Defense Director Matt Hogan is a former head coach at St. Mary's HS, UPenn, Clarkson, and a past MIAA & MSLCA Coach of the Year.
