ABOUT
About GWB

Great White Buffalo Lacrosse (GWB) began during the early days of COVID-19, when Brian Cooper and Wes Berg launched a backyard training group in California to keep local players active. The training group grew into its first team, GWB 2028, before expanding through word of mouth into a full club dedicated to long-term development. The club is ranked boys #81 on US Club Lax.

Founder-led coaching
The club is co-founded and coached by Brian Cooper and Wes Berg, both offering elite playing and coaching credentials.
Year-round development
GWB describes operating a year-round program built on consistent coaching, training, and competition for steady progress.
Loyalty-based selection
For high school play, GWB Pacific is built from core players who have returned year after year rather than from open tryouts or advertising.
Family-friendly structure
To fit high school life, GWB Pacific is structured with no weeknight practices and no unnecessary travel.
Priority registration
Current club families get the first chance to register for GWB Pacific teams due to their loyalty to the program.
Player-first independence
The program openly notes that competing club teams run by high school coaches can create tension, but states players should be free to train where they will grow most.

Youth players advance through age-specific teams such as GWB 2028 and GWB 2031, participating in year-round training. High school players can transition into GWB Pacific, an invite-only roster that may add 7 to 10 outside players to round out the lineup. Practices are conducted at Solana Pacific School. During the fall season, regular team practices at Solana Pacific School include sessions for the 2031s team.

A NOTE ON CLUB POLITICS
A Note on Club Politics

GWB is upfront that some high school coaches also run competing club teams, which can create tension if a player chooses GWB Pacific instead—but the club states it believes players should be free to train and compete where they'll grow the most.
